Apple Crunch

I know there are all these candles and oils out on the market now that smell like fresh baked goods, but nothing smells quite as good as real apples baking in the oven.

Even though I baked this Apple Crunch several hours ago, the wonderful scent of baking apples is still lingering in my home. I love it! 🙂

This Apple Crunch is really easy to make, and best enjoyed warm with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

~Enjoy~

Apple Crunch

6 medium-sized baking apples – peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup Lucerne Best of the Egg, Egg Beaters, or other egg substitute (or 2 eggs, beaten)
2/3 cup butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 8 x 8 inch square baking pan.

Mix apples and brown sugar together and place in baking pan. Set aside.

Combine flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon in a medium bowl.

Add egg substitute and stir until well combined.

Spread mixture over apples in baking pan.

Pour melted butter on top.

Bake for 45 minutes or until slightly browned.

Serve warm.

  1. I am always amazed at how much you bake and how often particularly when I saw what the cost of groceries are in Alaska. I still want you to adopt me (even though I am probably old enough to be your mother) simply so I could enjoy your baking skills.

  2. I totally agree! I had an apple pie in my freezer and I pulled it out yesterday to bake it….the aroma in the house was almost (I said almost) better than the pie! ;o)

  11. Living in New York State, apples are plentiful in the Fall. We go apple picking every year and always bring home more than we can use. This will be good recipe to add to my apple recipes. You can make only so many apple cakes before you want to try something new!

I’ve left you a little award. Come on over and pick it up.
