Sunrise and Moonrise

It’s been clear, cold, and beautiful here for the past couple of weeks, and the morning and evening skies have been absolutely gorgeous. The high temperature has only been around 10 degrees, but it’s worth stepping outside into the frigid cold when you can capture photos like these.

  1. Wow! Both of those pictures are gorgeous! But the 10 degrees! No thank you! It gets cold enough here! I heard it will be in the 20’s tonight! But there’s no sunrise or sunsets like this. I’ll just look at your pictures and stay inside my house. Lol.

  2. Absolutely beautiful colours!! Love them : )

  3. Beautiful! I didn’t realize it was that cold there already, but I’d sure get out for scenes like those!

    • It looks like we’re going to be staying this cold for another week or so. It’s supposed to be windy tonight and tomorrow too, which will make it feel quite a bit colder. 🙂

  4. gorgeous! and i’d take the temps too if it meant there was snow already??!!

    • We only have about 3 inches of snow on the ground right now, Karen. I hear a lot of people grumbling because they want more snow, but after the record breaking 133 inches of snow that we received last winter, I’m quite content with the 3 inches we have now. 🙂

  5. Winter skies in Alaska are beautiful both day and night. You got some gorgeous shots AKMom! (BTW – we are well below zero both day and night in our little corner of the boreal forest. The whole outdoors has turned into one big freezer. *LOL)

    • You certainly are in a deep freeze there, Akgypsy!! I’ve been watching the weather reports, and your neck of the woods always seems to be below zero. Brr!! Stay inside and stay warm!!! 🙂

  6. I can’t say which ‘rise’ I like more. That moon is beautiful and impressive, but the colors of the sunrise are absolutely gorgeous.

    • I can’t decide which is my favorite either, George. If I had to choose one, I’d probably go with the moonrise. I don’t know what it is, but very rarely do I get a decent photo of the moon. 🙂

  7. Absolutely breathtaking! Sometimes I want to live in Alaska and then I think how I freeze and huddle under the covers in coastal North Carolina ha ha…LOL!

    • Lol! We’ve had another clear, cold day here, and as I write this it’s only 6 degrees outside. I wouldn’t mind some warmer weather about now. 🙂

  8. Great photos. I love both of them.

Thank You liking my newest post. I have no explanation to it why nobody could leave comment. It is a mystery to me.

I am still working by my Mobile broadband modem for my connection. I have been promised to get operational connection to our new home in December on Friday the 14th, 2012.Let’s hope that they keep their promise. Happily I made many posts ready for publication, because I expected something like this problem. My Internet connection is giving me more gray hair, gray although they are white grey already.
