Spring Planting

Basil and Lavender

Basil and Lavender

I thought I’d give you a little peek at some of the planting I’ve been doing for the past few days. As I mentioned before, it’s still too cold to plant outdoors, so I have to start my plants indoors and then transfer them outside when the threat of frost has passed. In the photo above are Lavender and Basil starts.

Pictured below are Oregano and Chives.

And this is the lettuce that I started from seed. It sprouted up in just a couple of days and is growing very quickly

I also planted some other fruits, vegetables and flowers, but they haven’t sprouted yet, so I didn’t bother taking pictures of them because I didn’t think you would enjoy seeing photos of nothing but dirt. I’ll post pictures of them later, when there’s actually something to look at. 🙂

  1. We are doing about the same thing. We have a small greenhouse, and so the small plants can be moved to there in another week or so.

    • I think my family is looking forward to the day when it’s warm enough to move everything outside. I have plants all over the house right now. 🙂

  2. You’ve gotten a great head start on your vegetable garden. Your lettuce is really growing rapidly.

    • Thanks, George! I can’t wait to start making salads with fresh, home grown lettuce. 🙂
